Bear Track Woodworks
Artists Statement

Bear Track bowls are finished with a sealer and Renaissance wax polish from
England. We try to use as many local native woods as possible. These are salvages as
dead and windfall trees and branches from the San Isabel forest by special permit. Non-
native woods come from a variety of sources. Your bowl probably came from a tree that
spent it's life in the forest, or that shaded an old farm house. Spalting, worm holes
and cracks are your guarantee that your bowl came from a tree naturally dead and naturally dried.
If your bowl is a decorative piece and is handled only now and then polish with a good
liquid or paste wax containing carnauba. If your bowl is a hardwood and used for salads,
you can expect the wood to darken slightly over time, but still retain its' beauty.
